Greetings, farmers! As always, remember to set your reminder for this week’s Gather To Grow Twitter session brought to you by Food For Mzansi. On Tuesday, the 16th Nooitverwag Beefmaster Production sale takes place in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, and farmers can look forward to a fancy evening affair at The Meet the Makers Dinner to meet the faces behind their wines.

There is a Bonsmaras production sale at Tweefontein Farm in Middelburg, followed by a Cooper livestock auction on Wednesday. Learn about the important principles and practices for sustainable veld and land management on Thursday, and we will close off the week with a production sale in Potchefstroom.

16th Nooitverwag Beefmasters Production Sale

The 16th production sale of Nooitverwag Beefmasters will occur on Tuesday the 11 July 2023 from 11:00 on the farm De Vereeniging in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.

On Offer:

  • 40 Registered bulls.
  • 21 Registered cows (3-in-1).
  • 25 Registered heifers (open; bull mature).
  • 50 Commercial heifers (open; bull mature).

* Note: Catalogue information will be available day of sale.

Route:

– From Ermelo: Take the R39 direction Morgenzon for 12km. The farm is on the left on the left.

– From Morgenzon: Take the R39 direction Ermelo for 30km. The farm is on the right.

Wednesday, 12 July

Meet The Makers Dinner at High Constantia

This dinner series is where farmers will meet the men and women behind their favorite wines and it is in full swing! The ovens will be switched and the wine flowing! Farmers are invited to an evening of delectable food and wines from different wine farms. Get the chance to rub shoulders with the makers behind the wine, while they share the ins and outs behind each bottle, their stories, and what makes them unique.

Up next is High Constantia on Wednesday, 12 July. Located in the Constantia Valley of Cape Town, High Constantia is known for producing premium wines in the historic Constantia wine region. With a focus on quality and craftsmanship, High Constantia produces a range of wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and red blends.

Thursday, 13 July

Veld management course

This accredited course trains the learner on the essential principles and practices for sustainable veld and land management. All people directly or indirectly involved in veld and land management will benefit from this course.

Delegates who successfully complete this course will receive credit-bearing certificates under the jurisdiction of AgriSETA (certificates of attendance are also awarded)

Dates: 10 – 13 July 2023
Venue: ALUT training farm, Modimolle
Cost: R 5 800 pp (meals and handbook included)

Potchefstroom livestock sale from 10:00 at the Auction Grounds in Potchefstroom.

All types of livestock are welcome!

Conditions of sale: * Only card, cash, or immediate electronic payments day of sale * 1% Handling fee on cash payments. *Electronic transfer facilities. *Fica documentation with the registration process. All goods will be sold at a reserve price and the right exists to bid by or on behalf of the owner or auctioneer.
