Omunye wabapheki bodumo eMzansi uChef Nono Mtshali ehlanganisa i-ginger beer ethe ukuhluka kancane. Isithombe: Sithunyelwe/Food For Mzansi

Ayikho into emnandi njengokuvuna izithelo zomsebenzi wakho ekhishini. Yini engaba mnandi ekhishini lakho ukudlula ingilazi ebanda ize ijuluke ye-ginger beer? Umpheki wodumo owaziwa ngelika-chef Nono Mtshali usipha iresiphi yakhe yalesi siphuzo esiqeda ukushisa ehlobo.  

I-ginger beer esinye seziphuzo ezikade zathandwa eNingizimu Afrika, ipholisana kamnandi uma libhoke ngokushisa.

Iresiphi esisetshenziswe yizizukulwane

U-Chef Nono, igama adume ngalo, waqala ukuthanda ikhishi esemncane KwaZulu-Natali. Enye yezinto ezimnandi azikhumbulayo ngokukhula kwakhe kwakuwukulungiselela abantu abadala ukudla futhi ababone bekuthakasela. Yikona okwamgqugquzela kakhulu ukuthi afune ukusebenza ngokudla. 

Uthi selokhu aqala ukupheka, wugogo wakhe owayegqugquzela lolu thando kakhulu. 

 “Uyena ohlale engeseka futhi engifisela okuhle. Ziningi izikhathi empilweni lapho bengike ngifise khona ukuphonsa ithawula kodwa njalo ugogo unginika ithemba kanti ngaphandle kwalokho, kuningi asenzela khona (thina bazukulu bakhe) ngemikhuleko yakhe, isikhathi, ukusinakekela, uthando nokuseseka.”

Lo somabhizinis oqeqesha abafisa ukuba ngabapheki esebenzisa izinkundla zokuxhumana lapho ebizwa khona ngo-In the Kitchen with Nono. “Ngiba namakilasi afundisa ukupheka lapho kusuke kuyimina kuphela ofundisayo. Kodwa uma ngenza imicimbi yabantu, ngisebenza nabanye abapheki abancane abangisizayo ngezinto ezifana nokuqoba nokubathuma ngenkathi ngisapheka.”

Zama iresiphi yakhe

UNksz uNono Mtshali, umpheki owazalelwa oLundi, uzokufundisa ukwenza i-ginger beer eyehla esiphundu. Usezakhele igama embonini yokudla ethuthukisa inqwaba yabesifazane nabesilisa ngamaresiphi okudla ongeke usinike esingaboni.

Iresiphi yakhe ilula, inezithako zokudla eziyisithupha kanti uzokwenza ufune impinda. Ungayiphuza nomndeni wonke ngoba ayinabo utshwala futhi inempilo. 

FUNDA FUTHI: Ngezimpiko zenkukhu ezishaya emhloleni ezenziwa uThembeka we ‘Tee-licious  

Ingredients

  • Izinkomishi eziwu-8 zamanzi
  • Inkomishi eyodwa kashukela
  • Ithis’puni le-dry yeast
  • U-⅓ wejusi kalamula
  • Uhhafu we-teaspoon we-cream ye-tartar
  • U-⅓ ye-ginger ehlutshiwe futhi yagaywa nge-grater

Instructions

1. Bilisa ijusi kalamula, i-ginger, i-cream of tartar nezinkomishi ezine zamanzi ebhodweni elikhulu.

2. Nciphisa umlilo bese ufaka ushukela. Goqoza ukuze kuncibilike.

3. Faka amanzi abandayo asele nemvubelo. Goqoza bese uvala ngendwangu ubeke endaweni emnyama amahora amathathu. 

4. Cwenga izinsalela ze-ginger. Thela esigujini esingamalitha amabili.

5. Shiya indawo phezulu ukuze kukhukhumale.

6. Kubeke endaweni efudumele nemnyama izinsuku ezimbili. Ulokhu uvula isivalo kancane ukuze kuphume umoya. 

7. Faka efrijini, bandisa bese uzitika!
